What Does 2 Corinthians 3:3 Mean?

being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:3(NASB)

Verse of the Day

Having laid out the amazing victory we have in Christ Whose sacrifice on the Cross became a sweet smelling fragrance to the Father, Paul announces that in Christ, we too have passed from death to life and have been commissioned by God to be epistles of Christ, declaring the truth of the gospel not with letters that are written with ink, but ones that have been inscribed, stamped, and sealed by the Holy Spirit Himself.

Our lives are to become official letters of recommendations from God to those that do not know the Lord Jesus as Saviour. We are to become a sweet aroma of truth to those who do not know the gospel message to which we stand fast.

It is to be the indwelling Holy Spirit Who carries out His supernatural work in the lives of all believers during this dispensation of grace. It is the indwelling Holy Spirit who writes the character of the Lord Jesus Christ into the inner beings and character of all believers who willingly submit to His leading.

Let us submit to the deep and inner workings of the Spirit within our hearts so that all that is unworthy in us can be cut away by His skilful scalpel. And let us submit to the hands of the master potter, trusting Him to make us into the vessel of His choosing so that we may serve Him as He sees fit.

My Prayer

Thank You, Father, for the day by day working of the Holy Spirit in my life. Shape me into the vessel that You would have me be, and may my life be an open letter to all who cross my path so that I may be a good and faithful witness to my Saviour and King. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
