What Does Hebrews 1:13 Mean?

But to which of the angels has He ever said, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET"?

Hebrews 1:13(NASB)

Verse of the Day

The triune Godhead worked in loving, corporate union to create the glorious heaven, the angelic hosts, the magnificent earth, and all the wonders that are therein.

It was the Son of God Himself, the very Word of the Almighty, Who spoke the plan and purpose of God the Father into being, as the Spirit of God Himself moved over the face of the waters to form and fashion and fill the empty void which the Trinity in Unity called into being.

Yes, it was the humble Son of Man Who stretched out His arms of love on a cruel Roman Cross and Who suffered, died, and rose again Who established the earth and formed the heavens, in the beginning. It is to Him that the Father proclaimed: "Thou art My Son, today have I begotten Thee." It is the Word made flesh, Whom the Father called to: "Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet."

And the day is coming when the heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. The Son Himself will fold them up like garment and they shall be exchanged for a new heaven and a new earth.

Today the Man Christ Jesus is seated at the right hand of God Father in heaven, in preparation for the day when He will return in power and great glory, for He alone is the Almighty God. He alone is the Prince of peace, the Messiah of Israel, and Saviour of the world.

Christ's superiority to the angelic throng is indisputable. Nowhere do we find God declaring to His created hosts of angels, "Sit at My right hand until I make your enemies your footstool." Rather, we hear the Lord God decree: "Let all the angels of God worship Him."

This position of honour is extended to the Lord Jesus Christ alone, for He alone is worthy, He alone is God Almighty, He alone died and rose again to conquer Satan and sin, death and hell.

Today, Christ alone is sitting at the Father's right hand in heavenly glory, and soon the Father's promise to the Son will be fulfilled when all His enemies shall be made a footstool for His feet. Praise His holy name.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, praise Your holy name for Christ Who came as a Man to live a perfect life, to die a sacrificial death, be raised from the dead, and is now seated at Your right hand making intercession for me. I look forward to that day when You make His enemies His footstool. In that day with the angels I will sing, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, heaven and earth are full of His glory, hosanna in the highest." In Jesus' name, AMEN.
