God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

-Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

God is unchangeable and unchanging – unlike men who change their minds, alter their opinions, break their promises, modify their plans and speak lies with the twisted tongue of the serpent.  God is perfect in all His thoughts and ways – unlike men who distort and twist the truth – for God’s counsel is sure, His Word is dependable and His Truth lasts from one generation to another. With God there is no vacillation and no shadow of turning. “Hath he said, and shall he not do it?” God has set out His purpose for the ages within the pages of Scripture and His plans for those that trust in the Lord Jesus – and we have the assurance of God, that His Word is to be trusted.  Praise God that in the instabilities and uncertainties of this world, all His decrees are unalterable, and all His promises are sure.

My Prayer

We praise You O Lord, for You are our trustworthy God and King. Thank You for the truth of the Scriptures and for the assurance that Your Word will stands fast for ever.  Thank You that You will never let us down, despite our own faults and failings. In the name of Jesus we pray that we may become more and more like Him, as we submit to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit within our lives. AMEN
