“From the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard.”

Thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.”—The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.—Though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar.—Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.—“God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God.

You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.

“Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Understand what the will of the Lord is.

“It is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.”

This is the will of God, your sanctification.—So as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.—Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth…. Therefore put away all filthiness.

“You shall be holy, for I am holy.”—[Jesus] said,… “Whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.”—“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”—The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
