He… teaches the humble his way.

“Blessed are the meek.”

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge.—The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.

To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens! Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God.—Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

“O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.”

“O Lord God,… with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.”

“You, O Lord, who… blessed, and it is blessed forever.”—The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

“Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”—“When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”—“Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him.—The Lord God is a sun and shield.
