Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5 (AKJB)

Proverbs 3-5 Trust in the Lord-beige copy

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

Trusting God in all things is a foundational precept, for faith in the Word of God is the thing that pleases the Father and it is His will for our lives. Trusting God unreservedly is the centre and circumference of all wisdom. It is marrow to the bones; honey to the taste; the wellspring of light, life and love It is the fountain-head of all that is good – and it pleases the Lord.

Trusting the Lord with all of our heart is not only a positive and beneficial duty but it negates the elements of fear and doubt; holds us firm in life’s storms and stresses and replaces self-confidence with trusting “God-confidence.” God has outlined His plans and purposes to humanity and communicated them to us through His Word.. and God expects an intelligent response to the promises He has made and a whole-hearted, conscious dependence upon all He has said – without doubt or distrust; without fear or misgivings.

Our commitment to the Lord must incorporate our whole spirit, soul and body. Our trust in Him should be reflected in our life-style, our out-look, our attitude, our conversation and our character. When we place our trust in Him He fills our heart with His own perfect peace that passes understanding. Our trust in Him should not only be in connection with the salvation of our soul, but should became the driving-force of our entire being.. influencing the direction of our lives, for He knows what is best for each one of us.

His ways and thoughts, wisdom and knowledge are so far above our little ways and limited thoughts and yet so often we choose our own fleshly wisdom and scant knowledge. We are not to prop ourselves up with our own foolish understandings but rather take Him at His Word and trust in the Lord with all our hearts – even when we don’t understand…

My Prayer

Thank You Father that You know all things and that I can trust myself, my family, my friends, my work, my home, my finances, my relationships, my need and necessities into Your hands. I trust You Father. Keep me trusting, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.
