Bless the Lord Oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name

-Psalm 103:3 (KJV)

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

Assuredly we should bless the Lord with the whole of our being for the Lord inhabits the praises of His children – surely we should sing and make joyful music in our hearts to the Lord our God, for He alone is worthy of all the glory and might; majesty and dominion; power; praise and blessing. This is no self-centered, superficial form of worship but a yearning desire, deep within that is overwhelmed by Who God is and what He has done – for all Who trust in the Son of His love. No wonder the shepherd king of Israel started his hymn of reverential praise with the words, Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name

When we consider the heavens and our wonderful Creator, our heart is filled with awe and wonder at His mighty power and the vastness of His great wisdom – but when we consider the nails that pierced His hands and feet, the crown that tore His head and the sword that thrust His side all for love of His own and when we consider that Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to sanctify her; to make her holy; to cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, is it not our glorious privilege to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; bow down before Him with our whole body, soul and spirit and praise our mighty Saviour and King for ever and ever Amen.

Let us never forget to praise the LORD and remember all the good things He does for us all.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
He crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things.
He renews my youth like the eagle’s!
Bless the Lord Oh my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
