What Does Psalm 66:1 Mean?

Shout joyfully to God, all the earth!

Psalm 66:1(HCSB)

Verse of the Day

The heavens declare the glory of God, the trees clap their hands together, and the little hills rejoice on every side. Angels and archangels lift up their voices in anthems of hallelujahs and in Revelation, we discover that all creatures in heaven and earth will one day raise up their voices in a symphony of praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever to the almighty Creator of the universe and Saviour of mankind.

Songbirds chorus their glorious hymns of praise, while bouquets of flowers unfold the fragrance of their multicoloured petals in a stunning show of praise and joy to the One who clothed the grass of the field; to the One who cares for the tiny sparrow. No surprise that the Psalmist calls on the whole earth to shout joyfully to the Lord, to sing to the glory of His name, and to proclaim to the world how glorious He is.

How much more should we who have been redeemed by His blood, adopted into the family of the Father, and given eternal life, lift up our hearts and voices to the praise of His glory. How much more should who have been forgiven of our sins, clothed in His own righteousness, made joint-heirs with our Saviour and seated together with Him in heavenly places, unite our voices in great rejoicing and sing songs of praise about the majesty of his reputation, and give Him the honour He deserves.

Praise the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me praise His holy name.

"Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. Say to God, 'How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name.'"

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, I lift up my voice in praise to Your glorious name, for You alone are worthy, You alone are the Lord Almighty. You have saved me from the pit and set my feet on the Rock of my salvation. How awesome are Your deeds and I love You, Lord. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
