What Does Revelation 1:4 Mean?

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

Revelation 1:4(KJV)

Verse of the Day

It was the apostle John to whom the Lord Jesus gave an amazing unsealed prophecy from God, which was to unveil the glorified Christ in heaven and draw back the final secret curtain on God's future sovereign plans and purposes for the world.

But as if to reassure His children concerning the cataclysmic events of the future, which the aged apostle was yet to record, we hear the reassuring message: "Grace to you and peace from Him Who is, and Who was and Who is to come - the Almighty God."

The encouraging message of grace and peace is sent from God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit to the seven churches, through the apostle John. All three members of the Godhead give us a wonderful reassurance of grace and peace at the very start of this amazing book of Revelation.

The Almighty Creator of the universe, the unchanging, all-powerful, eternal, omniscient God of heaven and earth, Who was, and Who is, and Who is to come, chose to complete His communication concerning His glorious plan of redemption for His people, in this final book of the Bible.

May we who are His children earnestly seek to discover the hidden treasures as are contained within its pages, and apply it to our lives: "For blessed is he who reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it - for the time is near."

My Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace and perfect peace which You supply in such abundance to all those who are called by Your name. Thank You that You are the eternal God, from everlasting to everlasting. Help me to take to heart all the truths that are contained in Your Word and apply them in my life, to Your praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
