What Does Romans 8:33 Mean?

Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;

Romans 8:33(NASB)

Verse of the Day

Too many Christians have not come to the glorious freedom offered in the Word of God by the God of grace, because they have a wrong perception of God Himself. Christians are God's chosen people, His children. They are a new creation in Christ, and they have been called and chosen to be His sons and daughters simply because they believe on the only begotten Son of God and the finished work of salvation that was carried out by Him, on Calvary's Cross.

God has justified all that believe on the Lord Jesus, and is in the process of conforming each and every one into the image of His perfect Son. God has baptised them into Christ, sealed them with His indwelling Holy Spirit, promised them eternal life, and given an assurance that ALL are accepted in the Beloved. ALL are accepted by God because of what CHRIST has done.

But too many Christians have not come into the glorious freedom offered in the Word of God by the God of grace, because they have a wrong perception of God Himself. God is holy, and God is faithful. He is omnipotent, and He is omniscient, and God has "magnified His Word above all His holy name!" Surely we should trust all that God has said and believe the many precious promises and assurances that He has given to His children in the Word of God?

The enemy will accuse you of sin and try to dislodge your trust in God's holy Word, but GOD is the one that has forgiven your sins forever – past, present, and future, and flung them all into the sea of His forgetfulness, simply because you trusted in the Lord Jesus.

The enemy will taunt you with your unworthiness to receive all the promises that God has given to His people and try to scupper your faith in Him, but your unworthiness has been replaced with Christ's righteousness, and when God looks at your account, all He sees is the righteousness of His Son.

The enemy will try to flood your mind with doubt and try to discredit the character of God, but God is faithful and true, His Word is forever sure, and all who are believers have been accepted in the Lord Jesus.

So, who will bring a charge against you? No-one! Who then is the one who condemns you? No-one!

No wonder Paul encourages us to "rejoice in the Lord always," for "there is now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus."

My Prayer

Loving Father, thank you that there is no charge against me and no condemnation, because I am in Christ Jesus my Saviour. Thank You that I am covered in His righteousness. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
