What Does Song of Solomon 2:10 Mean?

"My beloved responded and said to me, 'Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, And come along.

Song of Solomon 2:10(NASB)

Verse of the Day

There are many places in the Word of God where we discover the symbolism of the union between a man and His bride, pointing to the future marriage between Christ with the Church. All who have trusted in the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus as Saviour, and His glorious Resurrection from the dead, have this special relationship with our Lord, for the Church has been chosen to be His Bride.

For the time being, we are separated from our heavenly Bridegroom, but a day has been appointed when "the Lord Jesus shall descend from heaven with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God," and we shall hear the voice of our Beloved saying, "Arise my love, my beautiful one, and come away - come up here."

A wonderful day is coming when we will be united forever with our heavenly Bridegroom, and the marriage of the Lamb will take place: "And so we shall ever be with the Lord."

What a beautiful love story we discover in the Song of Solomon, and what reassurance it gives us to know that despite His long delay, the time is coming when we shall be with Christ Jesus forever. His love for His Bride and His faithfulness towards us all is never-failing, even when we may prove weary of waiting or tempted towards unfaithfulness.

Let us seek to occupy ourselves until He comes and be ready and waiting so that we are not taken by surprise when we hear His voice saying, "Arise my love, my beautiful one, and come away - come up here."

My Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that I am Your child and accepted in the Beloved. Help me to be prepared for His any day return to take me to be with Himself. Help me wait patiently and expectantly for the appointed time when the trumpet shall sound and the Lord Jesus shall descend from heaven to take His Bride to be with Himself forever. Praise Your holy name! AMEN
